In my opinnion main similarity could be only, they are both from nature. But becouse we discused Newton and his studies about gravity, we can find another similarity. As it was already mentioned both can fall of a tree. But there is still a problem, a cat can fall of a tree as many times as she dares, while an apple falls only once and never again.

Cat and apple grow until they are mature. They can both get hurt. They both got skin. They both can be served for food (not in our country).
